Rabbit parasites..

Is it common for a rabbit to have these? Past two I've shot have had a parasite worm in the gut area. Sucker was alive and kicking when I gutted rabbit. Am I paranoid about worms in my food? Or is this more common than I think.
Got rabbit brining in fridge now. Thanks.

Yep, very common. Normal gutting and cooking procedures take care of 'em. Deer, squirrels and many wild critters have various different ones.

By the time it comes out of the par-boiler, all parasites will be dead. Fry it, gravy it and pour it over rice and enjoy.

Yea they are known to have tape worms. That’s why it’s a good practice to deworm rabbit dogs for tape worms 2 times at the end of Rabbit season. If they have caught any wounded rabbits they will probably have tapeworms
