RE:Airbow - Anyone Using One?

I read that Virginia is considering allowing the use of the Airbow to be used
by those who can't pull/draw a compound/crossbow.

I guess it's like the crossbow once was in NC before being legal to everyone.

I'm not up on the Airbow, actually never heard of them.

Anyone ever shot them?

I wrote the NCWRC. They stated that they have no intention of allowing them in our archery season. I do not intend to buy one or entertain that idea.

Airbows are classified as air guns in NC.

They are legal during the general/any legal weapons season.

I suspect it will remain that way for quite some time.

Don’t have one but have shot a few. It’s really just a giant pellet gun that happens to fire arrows. If they were legal for use in ML or archery seasons I’d probably consider one but that is not going to happen. They’re accurate but far louder than an xbow and offer no advantage to a xbow in regards to range or accuracy.

Maybe in a few years but right now, they are not legal. Neither are slingshots,air-bows,spears, bazookas and any other weapon not named under the "manner of take" in the NCWRC regulations digest.

"during traditional archery seasons".....sure is a poor choice of words, been nothing traditional about it since the late 70's, early 80's.
