If you're willing to travel 1hr 27minutes north of Troy, with a trailer, for multiple slabs, I'm near positive you can't beat Wall Lumber in Mayodan prices. I got a 10'X52"X8/8 slab of Sapele a couple years ago for less than $1000. I've bought quite a few other pieces from there. But to give you an idea, google lumber suppliers and you'd be hard pressed to find a slab of Sapele near that size for less than triple that. Or at least at the time I bought it.

Have you tried the sawmill in Troy?

We also have a sawmill here in Siler City. Wrenn Bros.

I'd Google "sawmill in NC" and "wood slabs" etc.

I use "firewood unlimited" here in Siler, Shannon York at 336-516-4038 and he will cut it to the length to fit your stove. A lil old lady customer of his must have it !5-16" and I get it 20".
I'm talking split hardwood, but he has a automated system and delivers me a small dump truck for $180.

Hargroves near Silk Hope is where I used to get a 7' diameter of slab stock 10' long.
So I had to cut it to length, which was easy when in a round bundle.
These bundles were $25.

Thank You. Sawmill in Troy is wholesale, does not sell to public.
I will be using it for a outbuilding project.
