Deer were found scattered over two miles near Road 528 in northern McCone County, on the north end of the Remuda Twitchell Block Management Area, about 10 miles east of Highway 24, between Fort Peck and Wolf Point.

Brian Shinn, coordinator of Turn In Poachers-Montana, or 1-800-TIP-MONT, said the poaching case stands out in the number of deer shot and the method of using bird shot to bring down big game.

Along road 528 near the incident, 22 spent 12-gauge shells were found, and all were of a load typically used for pheasants.

Kinda sick...I know a guy that was working in Europe and before he passed their stringent licensure requirements, was only allowed to hunt with a shotgun with shot no larger than 1 shot.

He did talk about shooting roe buck with it though they weigh 75lbs at the very largest.

Any shot size is legal in NC as well for deer hunting but you are correct about roe deer.

They are not large.
