Crimping shotgun loads

Going to hand load some buckshot. I have not reloaded in years and have never worked with 3" shells. I have an older reloader and I only need it to crimp the shells. Going to do everything else by hand. My question is will most reloaders work on 2 3/4" and 3" or am I going to need to look for a press just to crimp my shells. I have been told most can be adjusted for both length's.

May I suggest roll crimping?? Extremely easy. Die is $30 and all you need is a drill. Drill press is best but hand held will work fine. Just order some overshot cards $5/250 or even make your own. Once you get hang of it, you can roll crimp a shell faster than you then fold crimp one.

Only drawback is you need new hulls or trim down a 3-1/2. Previously fold crimped shells are just about impossible to roll crimp.

There is a slight learning curve with it. Or at least it was for me. But after two or three hulls, you’ll be rocking and rolling!
