First daylight photos of this guy. I hope he makes it. My wife said he looked like a supper or two. He spent over an hour in front of the camera eating that struggling clover.
He'll be safe for another year or two. We've got some really nice looking 1.5 year olds on camera too. Even one born this year with around 3/4 to one inch spikes.
I told my wife I thought he was older and on his way down, because of his face and brow tines, but he doesn't have a sway back or considerably larger belly than known young bucks in the area. I'll post one when I get home.
Sky hawk, I believe you're on to something. Here he is compared to a doe that was standing there a day later.
My original guess was 3.5. But now I'm not sure.
Thanks for your input guys. I find it harder to "age" deer I get on camera, than those other people have pics of. I guess it falls into the "would I regret shooting this one?" category.
