I had a great stand of crimson clove that flowered and seeded out. I have been reading that if I mow it in late August the stand will come back. Any truth to that?
I've mowed it, burned it and disced it before. With the reseeding I would say the burning had the best stand but crimson is a strong reseeding lover and I've gotten good results with all of the above. The only thing you have to do is make seed to soil contact and it should germinate when conditions are favorable.
Mine is getting hit pretty hard by a couple does with twin fawns. I walked it yesterday to see how my spray worked and didnt see one "flower" on the whole plot. I mowed it a couple weeks ago but i think ill just overseed with some store seed and fertilize in the next few weeks.
