Cabelas archery catalog.....something missing?

Got the fall archery catalog and this has got to be the first one that has no traditional bows in it. I've been toying with the idea of picking up a recurve and killing a deer with it. Back in the day shot a lot of targets with one and killed small critters but never connected on a deer. I guess time continues to match on... But it caught me by surprise they aren't in this year's archery catalog.

Nowhere near the same kind of money in it for them Moose. It's all about the bucks. ...

I build most of my own kit...arrows, fletching, strings, quivers, etc...and my local compound shop, Terry's Archery Plus in Ernul, takes pretty good care of me for most materials. The good news is that there are plenty of other sources online for bows, risers, limbs and you'll actually get a lot more bow for your money.

I had the pleasure of being allowed into Big Jim's used "vault", he's got an insulated trailer with 2-3 double-sided racks inside. Each rack is crammed full of bows of every description. I picked up a like new Black Swan recurve for about half price....

Great info guys Thanks.... I still have my old Ben Pearson recurve but I haven't strung it in over 20 years. Not sure if the wood deteriorates over time and if it still safe to string. I was just surprised that Cabelas didn't include the token two pages for traditional equipment.

Take some dry cotton balls and wipe that old Pearson down.... before you string it and after you string it. If there are any problems that'll tell you where...

3Rivers loves to charge a nice shipping and handling fee. Be warned.

The best place for items other than bows that charges a fair shipping price is called "The Nocking Point" owned by a husband/wife team. Terry and Sheila Lightle out of Oklahoma. They are not techno folks, so you have to actually make a call to them. The travel to many shoots throughout the year but I have never had a problem ordering.

The best place for feathers is another small business. Sagittarius Archery. They process their own feathers.

I forgot an NC bowyer.

Bill Stroupe - Cold Mountain Longbows

Another fine bow that is basically word-of-mouth advertised.
