Mud Bob

I have to admit it, passing 60 can be tuff. I cannot handle knee deep mud/swamp hikes like I once could. With one bad knee and the other worse, my balance is not the best. I have been looking into items that I could purchase and/or build to help. One thing I found is a Mud Bob – anyone used this or have other suggestions?

Thanks
Don

I have similar issues and somewhat grudgingly, I'll admit that age is one of them....

I like the looks of the Mud Bob...a lot!! Thanks for posting.

I had one of these about 15 years ago. Wife picked it up at a yard sale. I sold it for a profit before I ever used it. Wish I had it back now. I struggle in the swamp too. I always use a ski pole now.

Neat idea and good looking product. Price seems a little high considering an 8' creek boat is only 100 bucks more but I like the looks of it.

I made something like that back in the 80's to hunt a swamp with TONS of submerged logs and things to trip over. I used 2 Styrofoam floats (like you used to see under docks) and some cypress 1x12's.....

I looked at using 6" pvc piping with the ends capped with 3'x3' 3/4" pvc platform on top. Where can the Styrofoams be purchased, I will look into that - thanks

Neat idea there snakeskinner. Do you have any close up pictures that you could post of the how you secured them to the creekboat?

Don't want to hijack this thread. I posted the video to show the floats that could be used to fabricate a homemade mudbob.

But to answer your questions, sorry, I don't have any other pics but it uses the same parts as shown in these videos.

It's not ideal because of the "play" in each fitting and I plan to change them before I use them again. I think this method of connection is probably a better option.

I scrounged mine along the shoreline of Lake Ouachita in Arkansas. I'm sure they cab be purchased from dock builders supply..
