i think a lot of deer land is turkeyless come spring. I have a landowner in SC who teases me all winter thru early march with bird pics ; then they leave.

No doubt fall and winter is for survival and feeding. Spring is for breeding if the land doesn't have nesting hens will be as far away as they are comfortable with to find the right ground and of course the gobblers will follow

Has anyone spent much time in the Pisgah areas around Hot Springs? Has this area traditionally held descent flocks of Turkey? And what is the terrain like ? Was thinking of checking it out this Spring.

I spent 10 seasons hunting Rich Mountain(Hot Springs) area. It holds birds but it is physically demanding. I really love hunting Halifax county now. It is nice and FLAT!!
