Too late to plant peas?

Hey I attempted at turnips for the second year and it looks like I planted too much in the space this year cause they are all small and not growing. Is it too late to plant any peas? If so, what should I plant?

Not the best choice this time of year. I think the turnips may surprise you, they can be planted very thickly and still do well.
I'm speaking strictly as if you're planting in my area, almost to Virginia. If you're in central or more southern NC they may get enough growth to live past the first freeze if planted this late.
I've read of a newer pea called a Lynx pea that's supposed to be the ticket, but I've never tried them.

Use winterpeas but they wont last long if you got a lot of hungry.
