I’m sure he has lost weight from rutting but has winter coat so I can’t tell.

I’d guess 4 1/2. He really doesn’t look that run down to be dominant buck in the area. Or he’s just being fed really good to keep fat on.

Maybe? He looks to be in really good shape to me. My buck went from looking like 190lbs in Oct, to boney 155lbs this week. About 10 years ago after Christmas, I pulled a cam card. Around Dec 20 a beautiful 9 pointer shows up as I’m looking thru the photos. He was nothing but bones. I first thought his hips were broken they were so pointed. I was still excited to hunt him the last week of the season, as he was coming in during daylight. On Dec 22 he shed one side. The next day he shed the other. I kept corn to him and by the end of Jan, he looked like he had gained 30lbs. Never saw him again the next year.

Get your son to ground check him for you.... :)

You have all the bucks hemmed up in Wayne, open the gates and let a few head to Duplin.

How old you think this deer was?
I first saw this deer on Dec. 20 2013. I blew my shot that day. Got pics of him all of 2014.
Got a handful of pics of him 2015.
Showed back up at the end of November after Thanksgiving 2016.
Shot him Dec. 2 2016.
Got good blood but never found him.
His rack was every bit of 24 inches wide in 2014 when he peaked ...He was going downhill by 2016.

Last pic of that deer before I shot him chasing a doe.
Rascal had lost some time length and width by 2016. He was 16 to 18 inches wide in 2013 when I first saw him.
He was a true 8 in 2014.
Gone down to a 7 by 2016.

Over 3.5. Big hams, developed chest, neck and chest melt together.

So he had to be at least 6.5. Oldest buck I've killed was 5 1/2. I had three years of cam photos of him and his antlers never made giant leaps. He scored 122. The first time I saw the buck I killed, he was with another beautiful 2 1/2 year old 8 pointer with long tines. I had them both 20 yards with a rifle. Decided they both needed at least another year. Another member passed on the long tine buck, but then another member killed him. Scored 120 at 2 1/2. After killing the other one three years later, I finally realized how much genetics play in antler size.

Supposedly according to biologist and them
Looking at teeth he wasn’t but 5.5 when I killed him 2013.

I still think he was 3.5-4 in the pictures I posted.
