Still waiting to see my first one in daylight. I've had a few fly by close early mornings in turkey season, but none in plain view.

Old Mossy Horns
Normally Whipoorwills or Chuck's will Willows scare the crap out of me. Usually more than one. Quail hunting I'm expecting the flush.

I love to listen to them at night. We was camping earlier this year and I heard one. I told the wife's uncle (green horn in the woods) that every time he said whipoorwill, he spun around the limb he was setting on and he believed it. He finally figured it out and said I was just pretending. We've had a lot of good laughs about that at camp sites this year. We always listening for them but we haven't heard many...just that one and it was back in late spring early summer.
