When's it going to stop??

It will take a decision from the SCOTUS to make a real difference. When they make it clear that a name cannot be the reason to cancel a contract then it will be simple for the person who has been violated to sue the heck out of the party that broke the contract. Otherwise it's going to bounce around the various lower courts and never anything get done.
Amazingly the 1st amendment violation will be the determination, it's just a shame that this country has determined that part of our history isn't worth even mentioning anymore.

after the 4th of July riots in Illinois, a state fair show with a confederate flag is a sure enough recipe for disaster.

I saw confederate railroad in May..... as much as I love them, and think this whole thing is absurd,, the state fair probably did itself a favor if they hired someone else ?. The little watering hole I saw them at didn’t pack the house half as much as when a couple local bands play there.

It's a free market. It's not a court issue. Any details about compensation for the cancellation should be spelled out in the contract, plain and simple.

When's it going to stop? Never. This is cultural. Decisions such as this are made based on what is currently acceptable within the cultural climate. Our current climate is highly divided, and one side is claiming the moral high ground at every opportunity, while slinging hate-labels like nobody's business to anyone who disagrees. That won't change in the age of social media. Now that a small group of people can wield power through SM to the entire nation simply by making something go "viral", we are firmly established in a cultural minority-rule.

It’s ignorant , but it’s just a taste of what’s to come , it’s gonna get a lot worse , to many folks just ignore it ( guilty myself at times) If we don’t start NOW speaking out , BEING HEARD and being SEEN nothing will change Democrat radicals , Antifa, black lives matter, Queers etc etc are all heard and seen and get results regular folks don’t speak up and take a stand it’s just gonna keep on keeping on we can’t stop it but we can have a say and hold our line and then and only then will our comments be considered

I disagree. They were removed because of their name. Political correctness is totally out of control.

Not a 1st Amendment issue, either.

Great publicity for the band though. I'll bet they'll get offers to play at every county / state fair in the South now.......

In response to the thread title.
1) Not in my lifetime.
2) When those that have the resources, refuse to pay or take their money elsewhere!
3) When businesses stop investing in the US.

It'll stop when enough countersuits prevail to make it too risky and too expensive to cancel simply because a name hurts some snowflake's feelings. Until then they'll have free reign...

Not going to stop. Protesting has become a job for certain segments of our society. Never will be satisfied as they are focused on the wrong things.

The root of most of their problems is staring them in the face when they look into the mirror..

Political correctness is out of of control but it is not the main issue at work. Critical Theory is the root of cause and instigator and it is almost wholly a socialist left driven agenda. They seek to tear down whatever is normal in any society and anything that stands against their agendas. Everything becomes more marginalized and fractionalized under critical theory.

Didn't they know the name of the band when they signed them in the first place?

I'm sure the person who booked them did. That doesn't prevent them from cancelling.

If I was Confederate Railroad, I believe I would beef up the cancellation policy in my contract.

I believe the band played that venue before... and the media report I see NY Times mentioned 2-3 times ?
I spent my first 50 years in central Illinois and can tell ya , southern Illinois is about south as the south states.,
and I always felt if they drew the border along interstate 80 and call everything north Chicago, the rest Illinois, the whole United States would be better off., Kind of like California cracking off and becoming it's own island.

One cold night, as an man sat in his tent, a camel gently thrust his nose under the flap and looked in. "Master," he said, "let me put my nose in your tent. It's cold and stormy out here." "By all means," said the man, "and welcome" as he turned over and went to sleep.

A little later the man awoke to find that the camel had not only put his nose in the tent but his head and neck also. The camel, who had been turning his head from side to side, said, "I will take but little more room if I place my forelegs within the tent. It is difficult standing out here." "Yes, you may put your forelegs within," said the man, moving a little to make room, for the tent was small.

Finally, the camel said, "May I not stand wholly inside? I keep the tent open by standing as I do." "Yes, yes," said the man. "Come wholly inside. Perhaps it will be better for both of us." So the camel crowded in. The man with difficulty in the crowded quarters again went to sleep. When he woke up the next time, he was outside in the cold and the camel had the tent to himself.
