Steven Rinella Blade Roast. YouTube it. You won’t be sorry. Not to be too windy but this is really awesome because you can use your front shoulders whole. No fuss breaking them down and figuring out what to do with all the small cuts. And it’s easy and delicious.
Been wanting to try that one for several years. However, most deer I shoot don't have functioning shoulders when I find them.

1st deer heart. Soaked cuts in salty water over night. Sliced part of an onion, 3 whole garlic cloves, salted and peppered cuts and dredged in flour. Lightly sautéd onion, garlic in butter, then added heart for quick fry. Rare to medium rare. Pretty darn good for 1st attempt. Didn't last long. 😋😋😋

So…deer heart. I save em, usually in the grind/can pile. Meats meat, right? I’ve tried it several ways on its own, honestly never saw what all the fuss was about…it was just ok🤷‍♂️

Decided to try it again. We put up my Halloween buck this eve, and about the time we got everything cleaned up I remembered the heart in the fridge.

So I chunked some up, hit it with the OG seasoning(salt, pepper, garlic) and tossed it in a pan with some brown butter…good lord son😋😋😋

That kinda goodness don’t need much, a tortilla in the hot pan and a spoon of some killer 4 pepper salsa…

Best part is I’ve still got 2/3 of that heart left😎

This is an accident I made one night when I didn’t have all the things for spaghetti. I’ve made it a bunch since because it’s so simple and delicious.

Venison sausage
Oregano
Salt
Pepper
Minced Garlic
Onion powder
Diced tomatoes

It doesn’t eat like spaghetti at all. Not nearly as heavy and just absolutely delicious.

We have six bushels of oysters, 30 pounds of king crab legs, ham and whatever sides people bring. Gotta get a bear killed then enjoy a bottle of bourbon with the family around dark. Happy Thanksgiving
Sounds like heck of a busy but enjoyable day and 6 bushels just dang😁 hope the bear cooperate

Just ate some lunch.... turkey, dressing, taters, butternut squash and Cranberry relish and Cranberry sauce.

Get to do this again this evening with the inlaws.
I always cook my own even when we go somewhere else...... got to have leftovers 😋 🤪 for sandwiches 🥪 and such.
