What have you considered "money well spent!"?

Most of what I have spent in my lifetime, I consider well spent. Obviously some better than other and some pissed away for sure but I do not have a lot of regrets over my spending.

The $100 I spent for QBD2s lifetime sportsmans license has probably had the best rate of return of any $100 I ever spent.

Did not cost me anything to sign up for NCDeer back in the day but the resulting value add has certainly returned more than I could have ever foreseen.

Did not cost me to do it, but changing jobs in the 70s was a great financial decision for sure. And every penny I put into a 401K when I had that opportunity was a good move as well.

I've never felt that prophylactic's were wasted funds either. Actually, comparing cost/risk they might actually be the #1 investment possible?

Life without risk is like putting all your money in a savings account intead of investing it... boring and unrewarding...

Ton's of stuff hunting related, but 3 things right off the top of my head I would hate to be without now:

  1. Hired out yard work (the works, seeding, treatments, leaf blowing, etc)
  2. Honda Pioneer 700-4
  3. Kamado Joe

Best money I have ever spent and would do it again in the blink of an eye, Garmin Alpha 100 and gps collars for hunting the hounds. It is worth it's weight in gold. Second would be a 1979 Chevrolet Big 10 , I paid $400 for and drove it for a year.

  1. Any money spent on my kids education.
  2. My hunting camps in the mountains and downeast saved me a bundle on hotel bills.
  3. GPS tracking and training collars.
  4. Any spent on my wife for putting up with my bear/fox hunting hound raising addiction.

Paying a plumber to change out a fitting that was leaking under my house was money well spent. Anything that keeps me out of that crawlspace gets the same consideration.

I bought a new D-28 in 1995 and a new 000-28H in 2013. I can’t imagine ever parting with either of them.

The staggering amount we paid a reproductive specialist dr to get our daughter here because we damn near waited too late to have a kid.
The older I get, I buy more “needs” than “wants”. Tend to spend money a little more wisely on needs. Either way, nothing remotely comes close to being well spent like what we spent to have a child.

That is a great list. Mine mirrors yours.......with the only add the Buck wood stove insert we had put in a few years ago.

Are these the guys based out of Spruce Pine? If so, my folks have purchased a couple things from them and were extremely complimentary of both the people and the products. They were also generous enough to donate a couple pieces to the RMEF event in Raleigh this year.

First off any money I ever spent to keep my kids healthy

Secondly every dime I spent to learn the trade I do now.

The beat money I ever spent was the money to buy my wifes diamond ring. That thing has paid for itself a hundred times over. Before I met my wife i was in a bad place she ha made me whole and a whole lot better man than she met in the beginning.

What I have, I've earned. What I've earned, I spent. What I learned, I kept.

Maybe this should go into the sayings thread. lol.

Our camper. It has made us vacation in places we wouldn't normally go.

My Ruger M77 270. 21 years and and counting.

Dance lessons for my oldest daughter. She loves to dance and is actually pretty dang good at it. It's her passion.

Right now, I'd say the 10 acres we bought in Warren County and the barn/storage buildings I built on it. It has been a 'life saver" twice now. This will be the second time we've had to move since owning that property, and it gives us a place to stash and store lots of things that have no current place to go at our new home.

buying our current house and land on the spur of a moment at auction.
Property that I had patrolled since my youth. and now still can. :)

recent really good money well spent was a cerakote of my turkey gun. WITH I didn't do that years ago is beyond me.

A life raft and EPRIB for my boat.

God knows if I ever have to use them, the 5K I spent on them won't mean a thing to me.
