Weatherby youth scope

Can anyone suggest a scope or specific mount for a Weatherby Vangaurd youth model ? This is my 11yr olds gun. The only thing I could find with enough eye relief was a shotgun scope ( used a red head brand). I had to shim it when it was first installed. After shooting it last week it became loose and came out of adjustment. Just doesn't seem like the best match for the gun now.

How much eye relief do you need? I would check the specs online of various models such as Leupold, Nikon, etc. Some have 3 inches of relief. Or maybe get a low end red dot pistol scope?????

Are you referring to rings or bases, or both?
