For anyone interested in the spectrum of traditional firearms in action, come to the NC State MuzzleLoading Rifle Championship Matches, on September 21, 22, & 23rd at the LaFayette Long Rifles Range south of Duncan (between Sanford & Fuquay-Varina off Hwy 42). Visitors can watch virtually every kind of muzzleloading firearm from shotguns shooting trap to "as-issued" cap & ball revolvers punching paper at 50 yards. Bench-rest 50 pounder rifles shoot side by side with repro Brown Bess smoothbores.

Walking around the grounds, one can choose between about 75 types of black powder firearms for sale, including longrifles, half-stock caplock rifles, double barrel shotguns, C & B revolvers, and Kentucky pistols. Folks can talk to attending longrifle makers like David R Ricketts of Greensboro, and cutom knifemakers like Bill Bisher of Denton. For all this and more, go to: http://ncflintlock.wix.com/ncsmlra or on Facebook go to: Lafayette Long Rifles. Map available on Lafayette Long Rifles website or FB page.

Hope y'all can make it.

I'll have a couple dozen flintlock and caplock rifles to find new homes in the big Marquee there.

As mentioned in another post, the State Shoot has been postponed until late October.

Hope to see you there.
