Use Gravity and a Flashlight to Level Your Scope

Found this the other day, it’s something I’ve never seen done before. Makes sense and is a fair simple procedure. Might be a nice thing to keep in the memory banks down the road.

You know you can adjust the playback speed in the settings for the video, right? 😂
Playback speed, hell! :)
I just skipped ahead until it was clear they were getting closer to finding a point. Had to do that about six times.

Been doing like that for 40 years at least....still got to make sure gun is level when you begin....not too hard to figure out.

Working on it. Hopefully she will be born in about a month and a half or so. :)

I gotta be honest, this seems like a waste of time.

You have to level the rifle to begin with anyways no matter how you do it. All you have to do is set a small level on top of the scope to line it up and you're done. No flashlight, no white board, no strings.

level the rifle? I thought you just slapped it up there. held the rifle like you do when you shoot and make sure the crosshairs looked vertical. easy peasy

There are scopes out there where the rectical level will not match scope cap and scope turret level. A plumb bob is mighty handy when that is the case.
