A while back I came across a jm stamped marling 1894 44mag at a good deal so I decided it was coming home with me. Well this is a later model with the dreadful crossbolt safety. The other night I was digging around in the safe and decided that I can't stand the safety to the point it makes me dislike the rifle so I ordered the safety delete from beartooth merchantile. It came in the mail this afternoon and 5 minutes later i no longer have the crossbolt safety. Now I am in the mood to trick this little brush banger out. So I think I'll order a big loop lever and and maybe a fiber optic front sight. It already has a skinner peep sight on it which brings me to my next speed bump which is finding a piece to fill in the dovetail cut on the barrel from the factory sight. Also may put in an aftermarket aluminum or brass mag follower to get rid of the plastic one that it came with.
