I have a bunch of 4x4’s and 6x6’s from shipping skids I took apart . Going to build a table 12 ft long and 8 ft wide to lay logs on with the tractor . Going to saw the logs into rounds 16 inches and roll them to the splitter without having to pick them up .

Getting ready to cut down some black locust when deer season is over to split and dry for next year. Looks like the end of next week will be a good time to start.

I’ve got a couple trees that I can drive right up to I need to get up. Right now I’ve got enough inventory that if I can’t drive the truck and splitter up to the tree I don’t mess with them too much.

I got two "woodsheds"

The first in the woods has 4 bays:
A) stacked logs
B) cut to size rounds
C) split firewood
D) loaded on trailer

Then the 2nd by the house has two bays:
E) firewood
F) firewood

I'll burn wood off of E or F and when I empty it, I move up D to either E or F, reload the trailer from C, split wood from B to reload C, and cut logs from A to reload B.

Works....

I have the same splitter you got. I love mine
It works fine for me. I’ve never stalled it out on a tough piece yet. Granted I leave most of the crotches alone. Too much good clean wood out there to fight with a single round.

Got the wood stove going now. Haven't used it as much this winter as the last years but time to keep it going has been sporadic.

Burn mostly outside. Shed holds two layers deep. I’m 1/8 owner of a log splitter and stock up once a year. Duke took down a couple oaks in my front yard this summer and nice enough to cut it into log lengths for me. Need to get on it…getting low.

My dad has a 15x15ish lean too he keeps fire wood in. As a kid growing up I cut and split wood from the time I was a little boy until I left. My brother left shortly after me and my parents had a central air put in. Dad still keeps the wood shed full and burns it on colder nights.

Just like my dad, and he bought his first "riding mower" right after we left, also 🤣

My little pile. I don't need to burn too much here but when it gets cold like this I love it. I got 2 rows with 4 separate stacks, kindling and little stuff there in the front. Right now I'm working out of the right side for this year, then I'll fill it up at the end and alternate for next year. I have a 3rd row right there at the end but it gets wet so I just use it for the outdoor pit.

Got the Kozy Heat cleaned up and cranking today.
