Tar 3/29

Old Mossy Horns
Went a caught a few yesterday. Here are pics of the first two. 19-21" fish. Just think I could have fired that grill up and had a feast. Hope the management strategy works. I really think it is more of issue with enough water in the river during spawning than any thing. Years I have seen a good spawn with enough water have produced good catches several years after, even some 100 fish days/boat (2 people). Over the years I have seen huge pods of striper spawning. I have seen it look like the Roanoke, with entire sections of the river erupting. Have seen feeding frenzies, that would send all the small fish up on the banks to get away. In the curves where most of the fish hold in deeper water, 6-8ft usually at a normal level, I have seen the fish push a head wave when they start to feed. I love fishing the Upper Tar River. 2694726948
