Thank you for your service Putt. Special folks take that responsibility on.
I have done the job at a low level and it's fun and rewarding.
My best umpiring tale though is one where my Dad did a HS school game I was playing. He was behind the plate.
He told me the night before that "You'de better be swinging tomorrow if it's close.
I had no idea he was doing the game.
He had coached most of our entire team until high school.
We had the bats off our shoulders that day.
