Are we working on the record for latest frost in the eastern part of the state?

Yep....Nov 30th is latest freeze date on record for PGV, lowest temp so far this season at PGV has been 39. I personally have not seen any frost and the models do not have a chance anytime before the 19th and the pattern on the 19th looks like more of the same going forward. That said the airmasses are much colder now so when the ridge finally breaks it will happen fast and could go right for temps in the mid 20's lol. Really need one before Thanksgiving to get the collards right.

i remember all these weather 'gurus' posting all these models about how cold october and november were going to be..........so i have a pretty large dose of skepticism about long term predictions or outlooks. Heck they have been talking about this storm down in the Caribbean for at least 2 weeks, maybe even a month. they have at least gotten better at getting the 3 day right, and get the 7 day right sometimes. Long term is just reading tea leaves.

Looks like it’s trying to turn West basically head straight for my hunt camp i- duck season opens on Saturday and the storm supposed to hit Saturday but just a remnant low

Can the gov't use that weather machine for some cold temps? Tired of swatting mosquitos in the deer stand.

Models are horrible, lows in the 50-60 range highs in the 70-80 range for the next week, then maybe a few fronts getting us back down to near normal with 40's at night and 50-60 days....luckily the lack of rain here has kept the skeeters somewhat tolerable but if we get some rain and then dont get cold it will be rough on the skeeter front.

she’s predicted to slow down now, but staying at Hurricane and Tropical Storm longer,,, really trying to mess with my plans,,,

We need a hard frost followed by high winds. I’m hunting in the same tree as last year when I shot a nice 8 point. I shot that buck on November 18. I recall having good visibility. This year it is much harder to see. Not only do the trees still have most of their leaves, the leaves are still green. It may be December before I have a better view.

I think we are losing leaves a little earlier than last year. 4-wheeler picture was exactly a year ago.

Needs to be a little cooler than 34 for a freeze but what’s more important is the number hours below freezing, not just breaking the 32 threshold

Leaf fall has nothing to do with temp and everything to do with the photoperiod, aka time of daylight

Looks like maybe we finally get a colder pattern sometime around Nov 20th...not terrible this upcoming week but still warmer than normal. Then maybe another warmup before we finally get a big front with actual polar air behind it.

Ummmm….. Ok……. The wind has no effect on leaves falling🤔🤔🤔

A good rain would not knock millions of leaves down right now as dry as it is???🤔🤔🤔

You need to get out more!! 😂😂

Jk w you!
