We got my most favorite kind of rain yesterday……it didn’t rain hard and it didn’t rain long. But it did rain a lot where I wanted to go fish today so will make other plans. Y’all keep them hot, dry cards and letters coming!

Today will be the first day since about June 11th that most of the state does not see a high of 90 or higher. Was nice to see steady rain and temps in the upper 60's this morning.

Monsoon season trying to make a comeback? I think the national weather service has missed pressing the flood warning button because this storm is not that impressive

It looked like rain was coming at 7:45, then by 8:30 it was obvious it was going to the north. Our dome has held up not letting any precipitation through.

Total of 1/2" over the last 3 days here and I can still kick up dust this morning in the front yard under the oaks. Really looked promising a couple of times but just caught the edges of the yellow blobs on the radaras the heavier rain missed me to the north one day and to the south the next. Was in Roxboro Friday evening and the bottom fell out there with some wicked looking lightening too.

No dust to kick up here now. Finally had a good soaker pass right over. Still getting light rain and still hearing rumbles and the radar looks like we may get some more.

We must of had a decent storm here in Harnett last night with all the limbs I have down. Sad part was thanks to the Coors I never heard it.

Dude on WRAL this morning said "Storms should be South of Raleigh this afternoon."

LOL!

Glad he was wrong, we actually got a little bit this afternoon!

Had a trace of rain night before last being I had some things uncovered in the yard and on my truck I didn't want to get wet. Didn't amount to a tenth of an inch. Yesterday afternoon we listened to thunder for two hours as the storms past by just south and east of here. Today the storms are forming from Charlotte north to lake Norman and appear to be traveling by just west northwest of us. I believe one of those 10 mile wide domes has parked on top of this area now. Maybe I need to put my feed back in the truck bed, open up a couple cans of gunpowder and set it out on the patio, go camping and cause a flood

I must give credit where credit is due. Not the sarcasm this time, it has to be the shingle I missed causing the big leak on the old back porch20240707_161625.jpg

Well we finally got some rain this afternoon in Pamlico Co. My buddy called and said he was looking at 4.25” in the gauge and still more to come. I’m sure a lot ran off to the ditches but it’s been so dry lately I think the remainder will get soaked up fairly quick. Forecast next week calls for good chances. Be my luck it pours every day and floods everything that’s planted. 🙄

We just got about 1/20th of an inch; the main rain of the storm passed about 1/2 mile to the west of us.
