Spark plug inflator

I might be dating myself here. Yesterday, while helping a buddy patch a tire, I had a flashback to sitting on side of the road with my old man, patching a tube. We would break them down with a bumper jack, remove with a couple of screwdrivers, and then cold patch the tube. From there, things get a little fuzzy for me. To re-inflate, I seem to remember some sort of device that replaced a spark plug, and we simply started the engine. Does anyone else remember this? Can you still get these things? In a pinch, it might be great to have one.

Ues I remember them.
Common for motorcycles when I was riding.
Its just a check valve set up in the adapter to a valve.

I use CO2 now.

Why not just get a small pump that runs off your cigarette lighter? We keep one of these in both of our cars and on our ATV/UTVs.
^^THis.

I have one on a battery jump box that I can also run off the DC plug in the car, IIRC.
