Smokey Mountains Copperhead

We went to the Smokies for a few days, tent camped at Big Creek. My daughter joined us there and while she was rock hopping along the creek spotted this copperhead soaking up some heat from the rocks. I took a pile of pictures and the only change in its pose was to raise its head a bit to "launch position" in case I got too much into its personal space.... I was careful not to do that.

Nice shot. Glad you saw him first.They are not very aggressive will lay still and let you step on them.
