I want a story Hal!!

Not too much of an exciting story with this one. I was invited by Jeff Budz to hunt in Okeechobee county, and he basically put me on a bird. In that spot I was only allowed to hunt in the blind, so the big story is I killed the first turkey I ever killed out of a blind or over a decoy! It did take some persistence on my part to finally get a shot late in the afternoon after hunting pretty much all day. So I exercised some patience...

The second day I was able to get out of the blind and hunt in an area where Jeff knew some birds were, at least some hens and Jake’s. Did a nice sneak to get into a good position and then we sat and called for a couple hours. Got some Jakes to answer and when one of them gobbled close I decided to complete my Jake grand slam! LOL! It was actually a very enjoyable and exciting Hunt. This trip was my first time to ever hunt private land in Florida, so that was quite a change from what I’m used to doing. A big thank you to Jeff Budz.
