Sesame???

Anybody ever planted any for doves? Heard it’s incredible for doves. I kinda like doing the different. It’s expensive but I think I could get enough seed for $75-$100. It looks really “stalky” so I like that it’s not a grass type like your millets. I’m letting my ground rest from sunflowers this year and looking for something different.
FWIW. I know millet is good. I’ve planted millet. It’s fine, but I’m not planting millet. Too much material left over after bushhogging and I’m not in a position to burn it or bale it.

Never seen it in person, but a serious bird hunter I knew years ago from SC claimed it was awesome.

Why don't you try it and report back. Seed looked a little high when I saw it this spring.

Plan on it. It kinda looks similar to sunhemp. Probably gonna wait till mid May to plant. Hancock had 15lbs for $79. Kinda pricey but I figured if all I get is a couple limits with lil’ girl sitting beside me, it’ll be worth it.

It's a main ingredient in lots of bird seed, Sam's version of Premium bird seed is full of it. You'd get a dukes mixture of sunflower, millet and sesame seeds as well as others I'm sure. It should make a heck of a dove field.
I like to plant scratch feed, it's comes up good if it's top sowed and barely disked in a couple of weeks before the season :)

Did you end up planting it?
