Salt, all about the salt, and plenty of it!!I know this is supposed to be a salt thread but it’s more about eating so I ask.
How can you possibly get a brim to taste better than a crappie?
I have 11 days I can fish but where I go Friday is looking too sporty for me. I’m sure there will be a few more bad weather daysFlounder "season" coming....let's see them. I get 7 days.....8 if I wanna suffer all night at work.

Either way I’m still going to go and have a good time. If I can’t fish the grill still going to be fired up with something good on itAlways are this time of year. Would make much more sense to do the "season" in October

Maybe I’ll text my wife tomorrow at work and ask her opinion and post the screen shots. I’d say there’s a 99% chance she will reply back with “what the hell is wrong w you and why are you texting me this while I’m at work”Rumour has it that ain't a viable reason.![]()
I tell my buddies that my great attitude and big ole dick has got me where I am today!!Fortunately a big pecker and being extremely humble has overshadowed the ugly
Nice!!! Catching my first speck was the highlight of the year. Totally different from the mountain freshwater trout im used to(flavor wise). Similar head shakes thoView attachment 125130

Spanish in the surf?
Yes, Spanish was from surf. A first for me. I believe it was on cut bait and not a whole mullet.

He should have went back down the driveway and got one for you too lol. We fished the first 3 days and had a little boy about 7 with us. He caught the first one Saturday on his second cast. Smallest one kept but he won’t letting us throw it back. He caught me pretty good too one time. Wind blew his line in front of me and he had too much slack. I let my line sit in the water so he could get his in and didn’t notice his line went over my reel and and the same time I saw he felt tension o. His line and set the hook. What a messMy son walked in to my office on Friday after school and said, “isn’t it flounder season?”
After I said yes he just turned and left. Two minutes later he was going down the driveway.
15 minutes later he runs up to the door and says, “got one”.
LOL
The boy can fish.
Man! I haven’t minimal saltwater exposure, but I told @Woods and water the other day that watching a flounder hit topwater to crush a popping cork last year was pretty high on my list of cool stuff I’ve seen on the water.I had a pretty cool experience yesterday. I threw the kayak in the water behind the house before dark and was fishing a small zara puppy just about right on the shoreline. I'd made it about 500 yards and had a 2 or 3 lb flounder air out with the spook in his mouth. He didnt get the hook, but it was a pretty dang rare sight to see.
