I will start this with one I just got.

It is a 50th anniversary limited run as new in the box and from 1999

This is the old aforementioned pistol. I've never looked it up, so all knowledge is appreciated.

Well curiosity got ahold of me, so I looked it up on Rugers site. It is considered a Mark I and was built in 1973. I'm not worried about value, but it can't be worth too much. It still shoots great for a 42 year old weapon.

300 to 350 on the retail market today.

They did not mark them mark 1 in all cases it was later when they started the MKII that there became a mkI.

Btw that does not look like a factory mag.
most if not all had a silver base.
Plus it looks too long.
Also grips were wood if I remember for the earlier but those look like later grips.

The magazine isn't marked, but it doesn't extend out of the well. The grips are called silver eagle in the Ruger site and either the silver or the black eagle were the standard grip for the 1973 model. The tapered barrel is a bit less usual, but not rare.

This is the only one I have of mine, it's a Mark II with the 6 7/8 heavy tapered barrel...

I used to shoot squirrels in the head with this one, before cataract surgery...If I remember
correctly, it took my daughter 3 shots to cut this clump of mistletoe out of the tree...She prefers this
pistol over my .22 rifle for doing this...

That one looks kinda like mine. You're gonna need a safe just for Ruger auto pistols if ya keep going.

Funny, I have most the rugers out there in the mkII but slab side has been hard to find and harded to get a deal.
Been looking and I know one will pop up.
They shoot the same as a gov model 6 7/8 barrel just a little different.

I love the little rugers but out of the three I own this one is my favorite.
