Retriever hunt test?

8F97D1EA-89AE-4719-B22C-8896945CB293.webpPicked up a Started pass today at the Cherokee Foothills HRC - the started division felt a little like we were sandbagging given where she’s at in her training, but it helped us get some points and we will bump up to the Seasoned next time. First HRC test and was a good way to feel it out - little differences from AKC, but similar.

Next weekend we are back to AKC Senior tests - fingers crossed for a couple passes.
 
A marked difference in her runs today vs her last senior tests. No breaks, solid honors and one handle on the last water mark (a hen in some brush against the bank - tough to see). But she handled well right to it and picked up another successful senior pass. One more attempt tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

Proud of my girl. We will take a proper photo tomorrow at some point, just ignore the “duck season accoutrements” in the back of my ride 😂

Knocked out early this morning with a couple good marks and then it went to hell on the blind. Beats sitting around all day to get knocked out and then have to drive home 😆 No worries - I’m proud of her and we will be back at it in the Spring. Got to meet a forum member as a bonus (@spkennels - good to meet ya). Time to get serious about ducks now. Had to take a respectable photo also

Not from one of my litters but what we enjoy, watching super nice pups getting their first bumpers at under 9 weeks old. This little girl is going to be a very special dog. I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes when she gets to her new home for Christmas.

Tis the season. We are registered for an AKC Senior test in Cheraw SC on 3/30 and two HRC Seasoned tests in SC on 5/4-5/5. I'm sure there will be others added soon. Planning to register for the CRA test in Advance held on 4/20 soon as it opens. Goals this year are to finish up Katy's Senior title (need two good passes) and get enough Seasoned passes for that title as well. If all goes well, we will start on Master level after Senior.

Anyone else planning on these tests?
 
Wish I had a dog in training (sorta, lol), we got 2 of our 5 passes there at Cooper Black. Really liked that place/people, had a very difficult water test in high winds the second time around but made it thru. Hope you’ll have favorable conditions, I miss the circuit. If by chance you haven’t been, you’ll like the facilities as it’s a pretty place for hunt tests.

All of ours are going to be Mississippi River area and if it runs into the summer before titles, they will be in NY area.

Annie goes to Terry's next month. I may see you on the 30th if we come out and watch.
