People at work were "extra" today. Employees and customers. I wasn't sure if it was the time change or something to do with the moon. Had to look up if the moon was full. Full moon not till Friday, so who knows. The crazies are out!

My office today, Rosedale VA. Absolutely beautiful country. 29 deg here @ 6:45 am, according to the truck.

There is a small creek running behind me swift enough I can hear it when I am 20 ft from the generator. I walked down to the water, it was frigid.IMG_1515.jpegIMG_1516.jpegIMG_1517.jpeg

Me: Hello?

Caller: Hello, is this Rodney?

(Rodney is the liberal that used to have this number a decade ago)

Me: No, this is not Rodney.

Caller: I represent a local investor and we are interested in the property at <address>, High Point, North Carolina.

Me: That is Rodney's address. But I am not Rodney. So, thank you, and have a nice d......

Caller: So that is not your property? Do you own any local properties you may be interested in selling?

Me: I have no local properties, so, thank you and have a ni.....

Caller: Well, do you have any properties in North Carolina you would be interested in selling?

Me: No, I love my property and would not be interested in selling, so, thank you and hav.....

Caller: Perhaps you have family or friends that would be interested in sell....

Me: Look, sweetheart. I am making a concerted effort to be a kinder and gentler me, and I would love for our interaction today to end in a pleasant manner. So either you interrupt me one more time and ask me a question, and in return, I drop the B bomb, the F bomb, and quite possibly the C bomb, along with a lewd inquiry about what it would take to shut you up, or, you thank me for my time, and I reply with a pleasing valediction. Your choice.

Caller: Thank you for your time.

Me: Thank you, and have a wonderful day...

Taxidermist called, he found a ..22 round in my bucks neck and jaw. Jaw had the starts of gangrene….. He saved the one bullet, it was intact with the rifling still on it. The one in the jaw was fragmented.
I hate poachers….

My largest antlered buck had a .22 lead bullet in the skull plate slightly below the antler burr on one side. Half of it is still in the mount as we cut the bullet in half removing the antlers...

Now I have seen some hinky, goober repair jobs, but this is an electric motor dead in the middle of a tank farm with 100K gallons of diesel, gas & kerosene. Makes you wonder what is holding the rest together.View attachment 171355
That concrete looks wet like from a spill or leak. I guess those are sealed motors? I know diesel is not that flammable but concentrated fumes could be trouble

A lot of smoke in the air here in the neighborhood smelling like leaves burning. Thought it was my neighbor at first but it's smokey for a few miles. Maybe there is a prescribed burn somewhere

Reminds me of a story I can vaguely remember. Some how in one of my dad's cars, one of the 2 bolts that held the Alternator shared...probably when we were on a hunting or fishing adventure. Without a proper tap, bolt or tool kit at hand, his solution was a rubber tie down from the Alternator over the fender to the wheel well...jenky you betcha...functional though.

Yeah a friend of mine works in Stanley co solved the riddle when I mentioned it. These pretty days that high air pressure building with the sun heating up stuff mid morning must have pushed that upper air level down with the smoke in here. After a light wind stirring it lifted and was gone in about 20 minutes.
