I use the Google one. Syncs with the computer to do web messaging as well.

I switched to my phones regular messenger today. I knew the messenger plus was ending but I was about to change anyway because a couple things with it had started to be finicky for me. Some messages were coming in then would disappear/reappear. Or be out of order etc.

This is the regular messenger that comes on my Samsung Note 8. I did not have to download it. I used messenger plus since I've had this phone because I liked the layout better. It seems this standard version has been updated since I had used it years ago and it is not bothering me. Google messenger is what was offered for me to download when I clicked the link about messenger plus going away. I did not download it. Have never used it before.

When I go into my settings>apps I saw my phones original messenger and clicked it. It asked me if i wanted to switch to the messages app which I did. I then disabled the messenger plus app off of my home screen. My phone is older but I assume you should have a factory app for whatever phone you have. Maybe somebody can help better than me Haha good luck.
