Passing of a legend

The turkey hunting and call maker community has lost a true legend.

Mr Lewis Stowe, formerly of Clover, SC now residing in Belmont passed away on Friday.

He was a good man, a Christian man, never met a stranger and loved the American wild turkey.

His pocket yelpers and trumpets are some fine pieces of craftsmanship and ride in my vest every season.

RIP Sir, you will be missed.

Yes sir Mr. Lewis was a great man. I was very fortunate to have met him and had many great conversations with him. His trumpet is hanging around my neck as I type this.

I have one of his pot calls.
I used to work with a relative of his and acquired the call through him.

Rest in peace Mr. Stowe. I had the pleasure of meeting him unknowingly at a construction work site. Turkey hunting popped up in our conversation and he pulled a pocket yelper out of the pocket of his work pants! I knew then he was a special character. I greatly enjoyed his stories and he will be missed.
