Our Resident Barred Owl

We seem to have a pair of Barred owls hanging around our property (and hopefully nesting). Took this pic a couple of nights ago, and saw the mate flying around deeper in the woods. One of the benefits of country living!

Hopefully you'll get a chance at the little ones...they should be hatched by now...might have even fledged

From what I've read, they lay their eggs in April, and rear their young for up to 3-4 months. Guess we'll find out.......

That photo is fantastic! Looks like it could be straight out of a nature book about owls or the woods or something. Beautiful!
