One- Day Hunter Safety Class Offered

The Cold Mountain Strutters Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will offer a one-day hunter safety course on July 20, 2019, from 8AM to 3PM at the Lake Logan Conference Center. This class will cover a range of topics with an emphasis on firearm safety, hunter ethics and personal responsibility, as well as hunting laws, first aid and survival, tree stand safety, conservation, wildlife identification and management, and more.

This course is free of charge and is offered as a service to the community. All youth under 16 years of age who participate will receive a free jakes membership in the National Wild Turkey Federation.

There is no minimum age requirement but a written exam must be completed and passed without assistance. Courses are taught by wildlife officers, hunter education specialists, and certified volunteer instructors. Certification is accepted in every state and province in North America.

All participants must complete the entire class. Attendees that are being dropped off must have means of contacting someone in case of emergency. No firearms or weapons of any sort are permitted on premises or your person. A 30-minute lunch break will be held with box lunches available for purchase for $10 or feel free to bring a bag lunch.

Pre-registration is required by 6:00 PM on July 12, 2019. Anyone interested in taking this hunter safety course MUST register online in order to attend.
