It will be starting to get nice up there weather wise. Hitting the acorn drop on time too.
If some people could draw bear tags and them acorns hit we know of a few prime places to sit.

I hope someone else got drawn too.I wasn't far from will and seen bears that weekend also. Locals are saying it's loaded. I'll gladly send you some pins if needed. As of now I plan to be hunting in the area that weekend so I'll have gas powered winches and the cone if you need it . Pm sent with my phone number

Easy find we got you covered. Seeing any will depend totally on mast in that area some years they are crawling in there, others can't find fresh track. That particular spot has changed some since he was there but no shortage of other places

I didn't draw that wknd but did draw later one. No big deal plenty open non permit areas to bear hunt around there and squirrel to chase.

Oct 18-20th wknd. Steele creek forest service rd all way to end its left right before Craig creek rd will post more exact directions soon but I figure you know where that is

Talking with @turkeyfoot today and we dont know what to do here.
There is no place for a camp to be set up.
There isnt much safety in the woods for now with snags and dead falls.
We were feeling like cancelling this may be our only option.
That site we used on steeles creek is probably gone for how you guys remember seeing it.
Do we want to cancel or do we want to move it to another county ?
All you regulars at camp chime in here and spit ball some ideas.
Im open to more options, heck Id do uwharrie in a heartbeat but that a haul for a lot of people.
We are all equal in this, throw out what you have. If its cancellation that is understandable also.

I thought maybe we could all do something, I know we are all busy with this mess, but everyone may need a campfire to de-compress

I just said the same thing to Ev about the usual camp spots being altered/gone. I had more of an “in the future” or long term idea that could be a much needed reunion but also generate some help for those in need. People staying alive right now is what matters. I’m thinking more along the lines of helping forum folks or people they/we know that might still not be back to work or have a permanent roof over their head 6 months from now etc.
But damn did this whole thing make me miss and appreciate y’all
