Nylon 66

What about this 560?

I need to strip this finish, sand and refinish. I have the sandpaper. What for stripping and new finish?

If it's not heavily pitted under the rust a penny and oil will remove the light and heavier rust. If you do decide to strip the metal naval jelly will remove rust and bluing. Make sure to clean the naval jelly completely off with with hot soapy water. Any quality cold blue formula will do a decent job of rebluing the rifle. The real work is doing the prep work to the metal before applying the cold blue treatment. Practicing on some scrap pieces of steel isn't a bad idea to get familiar to the process.

Sorry i was referring to the wood stock, not the metal parts. Guess a furniture stripper will do.

Rust removal? Take any gun oil and a real copper penny (pre-1982 if you have any questions about that). Apply a dab of oil on the rust spots and using the edge of the copper penny gently scrape the rust away with the penny. The copper penny is softer than the bluing and shouldn't leave any marks on the metal.

Better still, use brass wool if you can find it, never steel wool if you have a copper based alternative.
