Nice little surprise dove shoot

Planted little spot with wheat Saturday. Pulled in today after work and was about 25 doves there. Went grabbed gun and my old boy. Shot for about 30 mins. Got the old limit.

Old boy retrieved them all. One fell in cutover about 50 yards and he came out with it. Been 3 years that I’ve been thinking it could be his last hunt. But he keeps ticking. Wants to go everyday.

Best Dove hunt I ever had was all by my lonesome in the middle of a clear cut where sat one single leafless tree. Every Dove decided that it just had to land in that tree before pitching down to glean seeds. Needless to say I sat under that tree & got my limit in less than 1 hour. Love your gray muzzled Lab. How old is he?
