New turkey vest

I am looking at getting a new turkey vest, something lighter and cooler to wear than mine from 30 years ago....I don't really use decoys much, so room for a couple of glass/slate calls, a box call and mouth calls. Any suggestions with stuff you guys use? I typically take the 4 wheeler up the mountain first thing in the morning and then walk around on top as needed to locate turkeys.

Since I have some Cabelas gift cards, considering one of these, but not limited to Cabelas - if anyone has any experience with these, would appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

I just looked at that vest, seems like exactly what I am looking for - more so than the Cabelas vests I mentioned above. Thanks for the input.

A couple more to check out would be ole Tom and banded. I saw a banded vest last weekend that would be my next choice. Looked good and lightweight

I have the Cabelas Tactical Tater and the way they placed the pad on the upper back is uncomfortable for me when up against a tree. Kind of heavy and bulky too.

I generally use a shoulder bag instead of a vest,,, I have an old Wicks version of the brown one and now also the camo one (it's more suited to turkey chasing as it has two pockets)

I have both the Sitka vest and the newer alps with stadium seating. Both are nice and have their place. It’s all depending. On how light you want to travel. Both of them are grades above the Herters vest I used for years.

This year im going to a chest pack vest. When I started I sat on the ground and have continued the habit. There are lots but I purchased one from Armageddon Gear at the NWTF convention. I did see a cool chest pack/vest combo I considered. Not very bulky. I’ll look back at the vendor list and see who made it.

I've used the tactical tatr pro (not the pro light) for 3 or 4 years and it is great. I like it better then the knight and hale RNG 200, which I also have and mainly use for squirrel hunting.

I used to have one of those bags myself. WICK made the best stuff back in my coon hunting days.

Have you considered a green cloth trout-fishing creel? I started taking one ginseng-digging, and liked it so well, I also take it squirrel hunting. Holds a good lunch, at the start of the day. and ginseng/squirrels on the way home. It might be great for a few calls, a water bottle. and some nabs.

I can't speak to a new turkey vest mine is close 30 years old. Needless to say I don't like change😏
^^Same. I bought a Nomad a few years ago, but it's still hanging empty in my closet. I figured that when the Limbhanger was spent, I'd switch to the Nomad. Hasn't happened yet.

Same with me I got another but the holes in mine aren't big enough to lose stuff yet so I'm hanging on

If I’m covering a lot of ground or if it’s hot I like the shoulder satchel I got a couple of years ago from Glenda Green in Statesville. Otherwise its my 12 year old mossyoak vest.
