I’ve been looking for a o/u in 20 to use primarily for waterfowl. I’ve got an old browning citori in 20 that I’ve been shooting since i was 12 or so probably but it’s skeet/skeet barrels and range is limited and it’s 2 3/4”.
I landed on a Mossberg silver reserve eventide 26” barrels, matte black, 3” chamber in 20 gauge.
I’ll say this is a big step up from the first silver reserve I bought a few years back. It’s still not browning/benelli grade, but it ain’t far off in a lot of ways. Double ribbed barrels, barrel selector, extractors, etc.
First time shooting it i did nearly as well as my best day at the sporting clays range. Points great, LOP is very good for me, and point of aim is good.
I’m going to look for the right load in tss or bismuth and likely carry this most of the next duck season.
Found it for under $600. If you’re looking for a decent o/u shotgun, I can recommend this one so far. Time will be the true test but I plan to out some shells through this one at sporting clays this year.
