NCwildlife GoOutdoors issues.

Yes -

The regs are on the splash page of the app as well
Thanks, I had missed the download option at the bottom of the page. I need a method to search the regs and the download works.

Still can't answer my question. Thinking about fishing for the big red drum - is the Lupton rig (short leader/circle hook) required or just recommended? Don't see anything in the regs on it....

Well, I finally jumped in to get ours taken care of this morning. Was a bit of a pain getting started as it is completely new to me me, but I managed decently well with mine. The issue started when I tried to renew for my son. "Can't locate this license" or some such verbage and telling me his profile had to be updated before I could link to my account, but wouldn't let me do the update from my PC (the one I did mine on). Had to think a minute after trying all the links to no avail..... Booted up my laptop and pulled up the site to update his account. That worked so back to the PC and 'bingo', was able to link and re-new his. I'm sure there is a workaround on site, but I could not for the life of me figure that out as it kept going to my acct every time I would re-open the link from my PC.
Now to get the app on my phone for a backup to the paper copies I printed for us.

WRC must still be overwhelmed with calls from Users this morning. They list a phone number to call for Help but also indicate that if the Issue can wait then please call later. This has all the signs of an IT Migration that hasn't gone well. Kind of surprising since GoOutdoors is used by so many other States. I would think the GoOutdoors IT folks know how to deploy just another State. I'm guessing the NC WRC IT folks dropped the ball a few places...

seems smooth from my end,,,

I wasn't there for the migration in other states so can't address how smooth or not smooth it went,,, but I expect it's less and IT issue than it is answering questions of folks who are uncomfortable with the change,,,,

I have also heard from a reliable source that NC had quite a bit more system capability in some areas than most other states had when they migrated. In some cases, the old NC system is more advanced than the Go Outdoors system. And the Go Outdoors platform is having issues incorporating the more enhanced function of the old NC system. Not necessarily with the issuing of licenses but things like managing the WCA reporting and the Events Manager functions used by the Hunter Ed Division.

Also, a lot of reporting capability is lacking with Go Outdoors system and they are in scramble mode trying to get that restored. Not sure which group did not recognize these issues ahead of time but the ball got fumbled somewhere along the line.

agree on the ancillary actions you mention - based on my usage of it in other states, and the design of the platform, I am fairly certain that gooutdoors was not designed for those type of functions - so it's not just NCWRC

I guess by now everyone has printed out a few dozen copies of their new license? Or gone exclusively to the app? One of my hunting buddies is a well seasoned citizen and just recently purchased a new flip phone even though it is the old style. I didn't even know they still made flip phones!? I was told by one of the nice customer service ladies that works for the company that owns the website that the app will work even if you don't have cell service? I haven't figured that one out? Where I duck hunt all I can do is text, and sometimes I can't even do that. No calls, no Google, no apps. Basically a dead phone. Occasionally I lose service on my own land too!

My bet is the app on the phone stores it and time stamps it so that if a warden were to Check you could show it to them or at first hit of service it updates the system.

I requested a copy when I renewed my tags and it came in the mail like always.
I prefer to search the regs when looking stuff up. I have found that regulations on a single topic may be scattered in various places so the search feature helps find them. Afraid I'll miss stuff on paper.

You can check in big game it's marked then when you return to area with service you get confirmation number easy as pie. You'll have all license hip cert number and all saved for warden to see no service no problem

I ran into that last week. Now the app shows duplicate licenses and all are currently active.

I have mine set up as me being the primary, as I have done with apps for other states.
My daughter is secondary, and I have all her info entered and synced up.

I thought that I would be able to get her tags printed from the app but there is no option for that function. In the past you always had to call directly to Raleigh to get tags for license exempt youth hunters. The old number for this is no longer working and the number they re-direct you to just rings and rings. Ive made 20 calls at various times and I cannot get someone to answer.
Has anyone with a license exempt youth hunter experienced this yet ?

The number you are calling now is number at the Go Outdoors Vendor and they are apparently still swamped due to the poor planning on someone's' part. Walmart or other license agent should be able to print her tags but that could be problematic as well. I would try that though.

Updated my HIP and printed off harvest card, etc. downloaded the app. Does the app replace having to carry paper license? Can you report kills through app and not need the piece of paper?

Renewed today after downloading the app. Flawless for me. I can say, I’ve used the VAGooutdoors app since it came out. Seems to be very similar to NC’s. I like it
