Smallmouth and red eye a plenty. Maybe a trout if washed down out of a stocked stream. Water was low and clear as a bell last weekend.

Last time I floated it all I caught was a few red eyes and knotty heads. Was hoping to get enough smallies for a meal but my go to beetlespin failed to produce.

i'll be wading or walking the bank. to catch anything will be exciting.
LOL this is a first time experience so anything will be better than nothing.
i hate to say it but i have always wanted to but have never been mountain trout fishing. i grew up with a fly rod on ponds and lakes.
never seen a red eye, knotty head or small mouth.
im excited and deprived.

Low water conditions should help wading. Stay back from the clear pools and eddies. Early morning has been best for us this summer. Hundreds of kayaks by lunch. I usually cast to bank first then work out to pools and eddies. Good luck

Rooster tails and jitter bugs ought to keep you busy on the South Fork. It's low and clear today.

Agree with everything @Vannoyboy said.

Worms will work, too, in the pools.

If you have time, the trout pond over in Laurel Springs is good. Get away from the dock and bring a can of corn.
