Morehead City Turning Basin 10-20-14 10-21-14

Firefly

Old Mossy Horns
The Wife and I fished the turning basin at Morehead yesterday and caught lots of fish. The Gray Trout are in the turning basin but most are just below the legal size limit. We brought home 4 Spots, 3 nice Sea Mullet, 2 Croakers and 1 Gray yesterday.

Today we caught a lot of fish again lots of undersized Gray's but we managed to catch 2 for the freezer. We caught 9 Spots to go with them. The Spots started to hit today if you were lucky enough to find them just after the tide turned to come back in. Two days in a row we had fresh fish for supper, the fresh Spots were delicious we had Trout and Sea Mullet last night. We probably caught well over 100 fish including Pinfish and Hogfish for the 2 days we fished.

If you can swing it now is the time to go fishing around Morehead. Lots of people fishing but no problem getting in and out at the boat ramp across the highrise bridge going over to Beaufort. Two good safe days fishing and brought home fish both days, God is good.

Eight Pointer
We caught keeper 25-30 Greys a couple weeks ago, kept our 5 man limit. They were right around the corner from the turning basin towards the inlet.
