Still Not a Moderator
Got married Friday and mom and dad came down. Mom asked to go fishing a lot. Between the weather and the learning curve, it was slow fishing. My wife and I weren’t catching anything either. The last night they were here, we went again Before sunset. Everyone was using different rooster tail/spinner variations. My wife, dad, and me were wearing out the red eye bass. Mom hooked into a nice brown. She tried to hand it off to me but I talked her thru it so she could get it done. Adjusted her drag so she could let it run when it wanted and she landed it. Turned out it was barely hooked just above it’s eye. We never took it outta the water. Released it after it was revived. After all the saltwater fish, trout, Maryland crab, and other food we ate all week, we were happy to let it go. Made mom’s day. Always nice to spend time with family outdoors.
