Marlin 88

Dad was doing some organizing and he found my Grandpa’s Marlin 88. We were unsure of where it went to so it was like Christmas Day for me when I saw it this afternoon.

I quickly said I’m going to give it a good cleaning. Initial disassembly I found the mag tube was bent. Might have to replace it if I can’t straighten it out. So if some of you have parts let me know.

The big surprise is…

I believe it’s still live. If y’all don’t hear from me you will know why.

You better be gentle with that mag tube. They have been fairly scarce for years. Know anyone with an arrow straightener?

You might also try Numrich (gunparts.com) but they are currently showing the inner magazine tube as Out of Stock

It’s the outer that is bent and I’ve found a few around $35-50 shipped. I have options there at least if I screw up. I figured it didn’t hurt to ask in case someone here had one or other parts.

Numrich had the outer in stock, with the buttplate.
