Long spring traps...thing of the past??

I know they were used a while back but are there still folks that use the long spring trap???

Why do most folks go for the coil spring traps ??

I like traditional ways of doing things....think it would be cool to catch fur with older style traps...


New to this stuff... Just wonderin

to harken to a different thread,,,depends on the situation and the terrain,

sometimes they bed better,,,sometimes coil springs do,,,heck sometimes my jump springs are the heat!!

I use Bridger #5's in water for beaver but coilsprings on land.
DLS take more to bed stable on land compared to coils IME.
Large DLS can bed stable in soft bottom areas
