I am okay with this so that there will be fish for my grandkids to catch when they get to my age. I just hope they enforce the rules equally on recreational and commercial fishing operations. And I hope this isn't too little too late for some species.

Sunzabiches are gonna get hooked right in the corner of the mouth too ☹.... oh wait.... ?
Oh naw, the tree huggers will swear that every drum since man has started fishing has had their gut ripped with a J-hook. Doesn't matter that most of them hasn't caught a half dozen in their life or really have ANY first hand info on this but like another regular they have their book or what they have heard on the subject.

The current size limit on flounder is 15” so how much higher would the marine fisheries need to go to comply with this law?

How is a minimum size limit that allows fish to spawn at least once trophy management?

Plenty of saltwater fish species have size limits or slot limits protecting some subset of spawning females.

CRC

Species proposed by the bill for a minimum size are

Spot
Croaker
Whiting
Bluefish
Striped mullet
Southern flounder

they may be ruining your consumption of fish. Your catching not so much.
Can catch fish now, so yes my consumption of fresh caught fish is my concern. Fish, I can eat and enjoy catching. Just think how this will affect rural coastal communities. I can stay home and catch and release fish, that have health advisories. I may watch birds and other animals while I hunt, but I don't hunt to bird watch. I fish the same way.

^i understand completely. but you are kinda making the argument for raising the limits?
You want to catch fish. wont these limits let you catch more and bigger fish?
aren't the new rural community citizens the ones wanting these laws? The rec crowd?
it is so confusing.

so is this law an effort to punish the rec crowd? Or is it to further harm to the commercial fishermen?
I don't have a scorecard so I cant tell who's playing.
Yall's riddle posts are very confusing.

Lock me up come drum season cause all the little bastards will be used with equal indiscretion. Specks, grays, little whiskered spots (baby black drum). Label me as a poacher or outlaw if that’s what it takes but you damn well best believe I’m not waiting on a’ 8” spot for drum bait if I catch a 7”Er first, and at this point, anything else that swims.

The fisherman problem painted as a fish problem has reached the push or push back point. Socialism fishing at its finest. Thanks CantCatchAss.
