no no - do you remember this "brand" that they sold on post - white can, black letters,,,called "Beer"? Generic pale lager that went for mere pennies per can, literally. Tasted no different than the big labels of the time, because it wasn’t. You simply weren’t paying for all of the branding/marketing.

and that is one NASTY photo of it!!

We had generic beer here in NC by the time I was in. I drank some here, but not in service. Rather have Black Label back then.

Schlitz was actully not a very bad beer. I think the company tried to change formula and maximize profits and things went to crap after that. something to that nature anyways...

If you want to drink cheap beer, go to the Dominican Republic and drink El Presidente.

I drink El Presidente now in fact have a couple bottles in frig. My son in Ft Lauderdale turned me on to it. Fresh Market sells it but it's not cheap. Last I paid was $12.99/six pack.

I’d say 90’s as well

I always had the chicken noodle soup treatment with ginger ale or sprite and would try to change the channel to jerry springer when mom wasn’t in the room haha, she forbid us from watching it

We drank beast ice by the gallon in college. I didn’t think it was all that bad. We never started with it.....but we sure finished with it.
That's what they used to give away at the frats. It makes your whole mouth numb. I remember getting to the point that I would turn it down. Much prefer natty light or even Busch.

Never had a mustard plaster but had plenty of vapor rub and mustarol (don't think that's spelled right) either one would open them sinus right up

went to tech school in Danville va. 1983-85...ballou park shopping ctr had a grocery store (I think food lion) that had black label lite for 99 cents a six pk.....I do remember a bottle beer that had the puzzles....seems to me it was a green bottle and called private stock.....ABC store next to the grocery store......mcdonalds on the other side......across the street was a pub called "the wurst place", german themed bar/grill......that shopping ctr. had everything a college aged young man needed to survive...…...man you talking about that beer has stirred up some great old memories!

The wurst place is where I’d go for st Patrick’s day hangout.
